Bench / BSL / Boot Tool
ECU Clone Tool describes software (usually paired with a bench/boot programmer) that copies the complete contents of one engine ECU onto an identical donor unit. Cloning reads the full flash calibration plus the EEPROM — including immobiliser marriage, VIN and mileage — from a failed ECU and writes it to a matching used or virgin controller of the same hardware and software number. Because the clone carries the original identity, the vehicle usually runs immediately without dealer adaptation or immo coding. Tuners and ECU-repair shops use cloning to replace water-damaged, corrupted or physically failed units quickly. Success depends on exact part-number matching and on being able to read the original; heavily protected modern ECUs may need boot/BSL access to extract the data.
Softechpro Solutions does not read, write or clone ECUs; it processes a dump you have already obtained, applying tuning/emissions/DTC modules and fixing checksums. After cloning with this tool you could open the resulting file in Softechpro to add a supported modification.
