"Continental Simos Manager" refers to tooling for working with the Simos family of gasoline engine controllers made by Continental (formerly Siemens VDO). Simos variants such as Simos 8, 10, 12, 18 and PCR 2.1 are used widely across the VAG group (Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda). Tuners read the ECU via OBD, bench or boot access, then adjust maps for boost, fueling, torque limiters and driveability, or perform Stage tuning, before writing the modified image back with corrected checksums. Later Simos generations use security and checksum protections that must be handled correctly. As a category term, this covers the identification, read/write and calibration-editing workflow for Simos ECUs rather than a single branded application.
On supported Simos firmware, Softechpro Solutions can apply DTC-off and emissions-related modules and correct checksums after the file is read out, complementing the flashing or bench hardware used to access the ECU.
