Immo & Key Programming
A CAS Tool works with the BMW Car Access System (CAS1 through CAS4/CAS4+) used on E- and early F-series vehicles. It reads the CAS EEPROM and, where needed, the ISN (Individual Serial Number) that links CAS to the DME engine ECU, so it can program new keys, perform all-keys-lost recovery, disable/renew a used CAS, and correct data after a module swap. Depending on generation the work is done over OBD or on the bench with direct memory access (some CAS4/CAS4+ require bench). Users are auto locksmiths and BMW electronics specialists. Because CAS holds the vehicle's access and start security and must match the DME's ISN, precise EEPROM handling and correct ISN alignment are critical for the car to recognize keys and start.
Softechpro does not program CAS modules or BMW keys, so it is not a substitute for the CAS Tool. On BMW jobs the CAS Tool handles access/immo while Softechpro can separately apply DTC-off and emissions edits to the engine ECU with checksum correction on supported firmwares.
