"Bosch MED Tool" refers to software for reading, writing and tuning Bosch MED-family gasoline engine controllers, which manage direct-injection petrol engines. Widely used MED variants include MED9 and the Tricore-based MED17 generation, found across VAG, BMW, Mercedes, PSA and many other makes. Tuners read the ECU via OBD, bench or boot (BSL) access, then modify maps for boost, fueling, ignition, torque limiters and Stage tuning before writing back with corrected checksums.
