Bosch KTS is a family of vehicle communication interfaces (such as the KTS 560 and KTS 590) that connect a PC running ESI[tronic] to a vehicle's diagnostic connector. They support standard OBD and manufacturer protocols over CAN and K-line and, on newer units, DoIP/Ethernet for modern high-speed diagnostics, with built-in multimeter functions on some models. Workshops use KTS hardware to read and clear fault codes, run actuator and service functions and perform ECU communication across many brands. The hardware is essentially the diagnostic gateway between the PC software and the car's networks. KTS is a diagnostic communication interface, not a bench flashing, boot-mode or map-editing device, and it is used for servicing rather than tuning.
KTS is a diagnostic pass-through interface for servicing vehicles; Softechpro Solutions operates on firmware files after they are read out, so a diagnostic VCI like this sits alongside, not in competition with, the software.
