J2534 Passthru Interface
Bosch J2534 refers to Bosch's SAE J2534 pass-thru interfaces, such as the MTS 6531 / Bosch Pass-Thru VCI, used by independent workshops to run OEM reprogramming and diagnostic software. As a compliant J2534 device it connects a PC to the vehicle for module flashing, coding and software updates across many manufacturers' factory applications, supporting CAN, CAN-FD and, on current hardware, DoIP. Bosch interfaces are commonly used with the manufacturers' own portals as well as Bosch ESI[tronic] diagnostics. Shops choose Bosch J2534 for solid build quality and broad OEM validation. Like other pass-thru devices it is the communication layer, with the actual reflash content coming from OEM or third-party software.
Bosch's J2534 device performs the read/write; Softechpro Solutions handles the file, applying DPF/EGR/AdBlue/DTC-off and Stage changes and fixing the checksum. The two operate in sequence and do not overlap.
