OEM Diagnostic
BMW Rheingold, officially ISTA (Integrated Service Technical Application), is BMW's factory dealer-level diagnostic and programming platform for BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce. It guides technicians through fault-based troubleshooting, reads and clears DTCs across all control modules, runs actuator tests and service functions, and — through its integrated programming path — flashes and codes ECUs. It communicates over OBD using an ICOM, ENET cable, or compatible passthru interface and relies on BMW's vehicle test and repair databases. Independent workshops and enthusiasts use it for coding, module replacement adaptation, and guided diagnostics on E-, F- and G-series vehicles. It requires vehicle order (FA/VO) data and the correct programming data (SDP/I-step) to run flash and coding sessions correctly.
Rheingold handles BMW read/write and coding over OBD; Softechpro complements it on the calibration side by editing an extracted Bosch/Siemens engine file — applying DPF/EGR/DTC-off modules and correcting the checksum before you reflash.
