Aftermarket Diagnostic Scanner
BimmerLink is a companion app to BimmerCode focused on diagnostics rather than coding. Through an OBD-II adapter it reads and clears fault codes across BMW/MINI modules, shows model-specific live sensor data such as boost, timing, injector values, rail pressure and transmission temperatures, and runs service and adaptation functions. It can trigger a diesel DPF regeneration, reset adaptations, register a battery, perform transmission adaptation resets, and display readiness/monitor status. Enthusiasts and small workshops use it for cheaper-than-dealer diagnostics on a phone or tablet, reading OEM-level parameters that generic OBD apps cannot. It is not a flashing or programming tool. Supported functions vary by chassis and engine, broadly covering E- through G-series vehicles, and it is often paired with a recommended high-quality adapter for full access.
BimmerLink is for on-car BMW diagnostics and service resets; Softechpro complements it by editing the extracted engine calibration to apply DPF/EGR/DTC-off modules and fix checksums once the file is read out with proper tools.
