AVL FIRE

OEM Calibration & MeasurementAVLWindows / Linux

AVL FIRE is a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation suite specialized for internal combustion engines and related thermofluid systems. Engineers use it to model in-cylinder combustion, spray and mixture formation, gas exchange, aftertreatment (SCR, DPF, catalysts), cooling and electrification-related thermal problems, predicting engine behavior and emissions before hardware exists. It is applied at OEMs, suppliers and research institutions during engine and aftertreatment design and optimization. FIRE is a physics-based simulation tool operating on 3D geometry and boundary conditions rather than on any ECU, firmware or vehicle bus, and it informs the combustion and emissions strategies that later become calibration targets. It sits at the design/analysis stage, well upstream of any measurement, calibration or tuning activity.

What AVL FIRE is used for

Where Softechpro fits

FIRE is a physics simulation tool used in engine design, with no connection to firmware editing. Softechpro operates on compiled ECU images applying modules and checksums, so the two occupy different stages and never overlap.
