AVL CAMEO is a Design of Experiments (DoE) and test automation tool used to optimize ECU calibrations efficiently on testbeds and in vehicles. It plans experiment matrices, automates measurement runs on engine and powertrain testbeds, builds statistical/empirical models from the results, and derives optimal calibration maps that balance performance, fuel consumption, drivability and emissions targets. Calibration engineers use CAMEO to reduce the number of test points needed while systematically exploring the calibration space, and it interfaces with measurement-and-calibration and testbed automation systems. It is model- and data-driven and manufacturer-agnostic, concerned with generating and optimizing calibration data rather than directly flashing or hex-editing an ECU. CAMEO addresses the development-optimization stage of calibration work.

Where Softechpro fits

CAMEO generates and optimizes calibration data during OEM development, a statistical/testbed discipline outside Softechpro's scope. Softechpro applies module-based edits and checksum correction to finished firmware, complementing rather than replacing such optimization tools.
