J2534 Passthru Interface
Autel J2534 refers to using Autel's vehicle communication interfaces, such as the MaxiFlash J2534 programmer and the J-VCI bundled with MaxiSys tablets, as SAE J2534 pass-thru devices for OEM ECU reprogramming. In this role the Autel VCI connects a PC to the vehicle so factory reprogramming software can flash and update control modules, complementing Autel's own bidirectional diagnostics and coding. The hardware supports CAN, CAN-FD and, on newer units, DoIP, covering late-model reflash needs. Independent shops use Autel J2534 to perform SGW-gated reprogramming, module replacements and software updates that require OEM applications. It gives one ecosystem for both Autel's native diagnostics and standardized J2534 flashing.
The Autel J2534 interface moves data to and from the ECU; Softechpro Solutions edits the calibration file in between with tuning/emissions modules and checksum correction. It is complementary file software, not a diagnostic interface.
