Airbag / Crash Data
Airbag Reset Tool is a general term for utilities that reset an airbag/SRS control unit to a non-crashed, ready state after deployment or a stored hard fault. The tool works on an EEPROM read of the airbag module, locating and clearing the crash-data bytes and deployment flags so the rebuilt unit passes its self-check and the airbag warning light can clear. It is used by module-repair and accident-repair specialists as a lower-cost alternative to buying a new control unit. Coverage varies by tool but typically spans many common car makers and airbag EEPROM chips. Because it involves an occupant-safety system, resetting a module is only appropriate as part of a complete, professional repair in which all deployed airbags, pretensioners and sensors are replaced, and it is regulated in many jurisdictions.
Softechpro Solutions is an engine-ECU tuning and diagnostics platform and does not work on airbag/SRS modules or crash data. This tool covers a separate safety system with no functional overlap.
