Standalone ECU / Engine Management
Adaptronic is an Australian ECU maker (later acquired by Haltech) known for its Modular 'e-series' ECUs — such as the e420, e440 and e1280 — and the plug-in Select series. WARI is used to configure, tune and log Adaptronic Modular/e-series units from a Windows PC over USB. Tuners set up fuel and ignition maps, injector and sensor calibration, closed-loop boost, and the e-series' distinctive real-time self-learning tuning features, then log data for analysis. The Modular ECUs were popular on rotary and turbo four-cylinder builds. As with any standalone, the Adaptronic ECU and its software replace the factory ECU rather than reading or reflashing OEM firmware.
Adaptronic's software programs a standalone that replaces the OEM ECU; Softechpro instead reflashes factory ECUs and auto-applies emissions/DTC modules with checksum correction. They complement each other across a shop's standalone and stock-ECU work.
