Definition
Siemens (now Continental) SIMOS is the Siemens-built ECU family used primarily on VAG TFSI / FSI engines (Audi A3 / Golf GTI 5/6 / Skoda Octavia VRS). Variants: SIMOS 7.1, SIMOS 8, SIMOS 12, SIMOS 18.
Why workshops care
SIMOS competes with Bosch MED17 on VAG petrol applications. Tuning workflow is similar but the checksum format differs — multi-page hash table at known offsets.
