Definition
FRF is the PSA / Stellantis OEM firmware wrapper used to deliver ECU updates over IDIAG / DiagBox. The .frf file contains an encrypted inner .bin plus a metadata header. Modern tools decrypt the .frf at flash time.
Why workshops care
PSA / Stellantis OEM updates download as .frf. Tuners on PSA (Peugeot, Citroen, Opel) platforms work with the inner .bin extracted from the .frf wrapper. Softechpro accepts .frf input directly and unwraps automatically.
