On Saturn vehicles, P1890 is logged when the ECU detects a fault in the powertrain: “ECM Data Input Circuit”. P1890 is a manufacturer-specific Saturn code (the "1" after the letter marks an OEM-defined code), so its meaning applies to Saturn and may differ on other makes.
