DTC Detected In ECM Or PCM
On Pontiac vehicles, P1693 is logged when the ECU detects a fault in the powertrain: “DTC Detected In ECM Or PCM”. P1693 is a manufacturer-specific Pontiac code (the "1" after the letter marks an OEM-defined code), so its meaning applies to Pontiac and may differ on other makes.
