What P1403 means on a Chrysler

On Chrysler vehicles, P1403 is logged when the ECU detects a fault in the EGR: “Exhaust Gas Recirculation System Valve 1”. P1403 is a manufacturer-specific Chrysler code (the "1" after the letter marks an OEM-defined code), so its meaning applies to Chrysler and may differ on other makes.
