Through brand-specific 'commanders' it covers a very wide range of manufacturers for advanced key programming, mileage operations, module adaptation, coding and ECU/TCU functions. AVDI is known for capabilities that go beyond standard diagnostics, all-keys-lost key learning, immobilizer work, module replacement and special functions on VAG, Mercedes, BMW and many other marques. Locksmiths, ECU specialists and advanced workshops use it as a core hardware platform, adding software licenses for the brands and functions they need. It connects via OBD-II and, for some tasks, bench connections, and requires Windows plus the appropriate Abrites licenses.
Abrites VAG Commander is the Volkswagen Group software package that runs on the Abrites AVDI interface. It delivers advanced diagnostics, coding, adaptation, key programming, immobilizer functions, mileage operations and module/component work for Audi, VW, SEAT, Skoda, Bentley, Lamborghini and Porsche. It is capable of all-keys-lost key learning, immo-module adaptation, component-protection handling, dashboard operations and special functions across multiple immobilizer generations, including newer MQB platforms depending on licensing. ECU/immo specialists and locksmiths use it for complex VAG jobs beyond the reach of generic tools. It requires the AVDI hardware, Windows and the relevant Abrites software licenses. It should not be confused with the generically named 'VAG Commander' tools sold by other vendors.
